Head of Household Census Returns 1600 to 1850

The Head of Household Census returns in New Brunswick, prior to the nominal censuses starting in 1851, name the family head, the marital status of that individual, the number of persons living in each household and their gender.

Prior to 1784 and the formation of New Brunswick, the lands were part of Nova Scotia under British authority, and earlier, part of Acadia under French rule.
