The Mi'gmaq and Maliseet Institute maintain the Mi'gmaq-Maliseet Resource Collection located on the top floor of the Harriet Irving Library in Archives & Special Collections (506) 453-4748.

The Archives has many published books, monographs and journal articles as well as private manuscripts, photographs, audio-visual material and artefacts with data on the First Nations in New Brunswick.  The collections provides data on First Nation archaeology, history, communities, language, education, religion, folklore, legends, medicines, crafts, place names, aboriginal rights, land claims and treaties. 

Of special use is a sixty-nine page Guide to Mi'gmaq-Maliseet Holdings in Archives & Special Collections:  Harriet Irving Library by Shauna Clark (1996) that has been prepared to assist researchers.  This excellent guide lists and describes monographs, journal articles, manuscripts, photographs, audio-visual material and artefacts located in the Archives and Special Collections.  This guide draws attention to items that might otherwise remain undetected because of their location within other bodies of material.
